The Illawarra Flame

Genevieve Swart is a journalist with 30 years' experience. She co-owns and edits The Illawarra Flame, is a director of True Story festival and a founding member of the Local & Independent News Association.

Jeremy Lasek has decades of experience in media, marketing, events and PR. His career began locally at the Lake Times, ABC Radio and WIN-TV then moved to Canberra. Jeremy is the editor of 'We Voted YES' and a regular Illawarra Flame contributor.

Amanda is a naturalist, writer & photographer. Her passion lies in discovering interesting critters in urban environments and sharing them via her Facebook page Backyard Zoology. Oh, and adventures, naps and wine; she’s passionate about those, too!

Born and raised in Central West NSW, Tyneesha Williams is a UOW journalism graduate who fell in love with the Illawarra. She runs her own business, Neesh Photography, and in her spare time enjoys taking pictures, attending gigs and going to the beach

Emma Rooksby is a volunteer bush regenerator and environmental educator who helped establish the Growing Illawarra Natives website. She is passionate about protecting and restoring biodiversity in the Illawarra.
