Khysir Carter is a multimedia journalist, writer, and editor from Kensington who covers community stories, builds local partnerships, and engages youth in finding their creative voice through writing and multimedia.

Emily Rizzo is the Accountability Reporter for Kensington Voice. She mostly covers the city’s response to the opioid and housing crises in Kensington, with a focus on how new policies and initiatives affect the community.

Sammy brings a trauma-informed, community-engaged lens to police accountability and public health coverage—from her prior role as WHYY’s first gun-violence prevention reporter to her work hosting award-winning, survivor-centered podcasts.

Jillian Bauer-Reese is an educator, journalist, and social worker. She leads Kensington Voice and teaches at Temple University, where she studies media harm reduction practices in stigmatized communities.

Solmaira Valerio is a North Philly–born photographer and musician whose work draws on their cultural roots to capture the energy, vulnerability, and authenticity of communities while challenging stereotypes and stigma.
